Le Tigre Kevlar (tiger kevlar) is distinctive & unique!
Turns out that Le Tigres are HOT sellers at Red Rock Wilderness Store.

Le Tigre is a new type of kevlar where some strands of the of the kevlar fibers have been dyed with a special hi-tech process and woven in to make a unique pattern. It mutes down the butterscotch color of plain kevlar. As far as strength and every other aspect of the canoe, Le Tigre kevlar is the same as regular kevlar. The price difference reflects the slight increase in cost of the dyed kevlar, and the black or gold anodized aluminum gunwales that come with every Le Tigre kevlar.

For simplicity, you can refer to this cloth as Tiger kevlar. It's our #1 selling material because it looks unique and "browns up" evenly. Plain, butterscotch kevlar tends to get a little on the blotchy side as it fades to brown over time which is what all kevlar does. Tiger kevlar on the other hand, evenly fades to a darker brown and is actually a pretty nice looking color. The best part of Tiger kevlar is that it refinishes beautifully with marine varnish. All you need to do after 3-5 years of private use of the canoe, OR after buying a used rental canoe from an outfitter, is sand it down with 80 grit sand paper using an orbital palm sander. Then without listing all the steps in detail, you roll on varnish and let it cure over night. The canoe will look beautiful. Now, as I said, I didn't list all the steps to do, but it's not hard and the whole process takes about an hour. You can see the process HERE.

Long story short, chances are very good that you'll be quite happy with a Le Tigre kevlar Souris River Canoe.
