Ponderings by Red Rock Wilderness StoreHere's a sampling of the questions folks ask us and the answers I give regarding canoes, kayaks, repairs, packs, etc. The majority of my answers are based on my own tangible observations and life experience. We interact with a LOT of canoe paddlers here and actually witness many canoe test paddles on a regular basis. We also outfit a large number of paddlers with canoes and gear for canoe camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. A few of my answers are based on deductive reasoning. Some of my opinions have been shaped by years of guiding neophytes on wilderness fishing trips, studying history, studying my competitor's canoes, studying Souris River Canoes and listening to the general paddling market. We also talk to many BWCA outfitters and growing up here in the woods as opposed to being raised in the city lends itself to my sometimes "strong" opinions. Many of these people below who are asking the questions, now own one or more Souris River Canoes.
