Souris River Warranty
Q. I have checked out your
web page and also that of Souris River. I cannot
find any reference to a warranty. As good as the reviews seem to be I find
it hard to believe that they do not have a lifetime warranty against defects
in materials and workmanship. Could you please e-mail me information on your
warranty. Do your use canoes carry any warranty from Souris River. I am
anxious to find a good all around canoe and would like information. Thank
You. Russ
A. Russ-
They all come with a 1 year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Our biggest
warranty issue occured 2 years ago. The manufacturer of the ash framed, web seats missed a spot of
glue on about 20 seats and they all broke at the same point in 20 canoes. We replaced them and the
problem was addressed immediately. Otherwise, the canoes are all inspected and leak tested at the
factory before they get here. As a rule, we don't experience many warranty issues at all and
Souris River's reserves the right to repair or replace as they see fit. It is noted in the warranty
that it is the customer's responsibility to get the canoe back to the dealer. With the heat-cured
epoxy resin, we never see hull delaminations/separations like those that can occur in vinylester
resin canoes more easily. It's a pretty reliable piece of equipment. Thanks!
