The Quetico 17 has become one
of Souris River's most popular hulls due to it's exceptional stability,
speed, glide, payload capacity and user-friendliness. If you are
seeking a good all-around hull for a wide variety of uses from
general paddling to wild rice harvesting to fishing, this is a very good
choice. Feels secure like your old family aluminum but moves about
30% faster, carries a comfortable payload, has a good track/turn
ratio and shoulders like a relative feather. Le Tigre Kevlar is our most popular layup due
primarily to its unique appearance and the "muted down" effect
the little black stripes have on the butterscotch color of the kevlar.
Also, out of all the layups, Le Tigre is the easiest to refinish and make look new again with a high
quality marine varnish available at Red Rock. It is available in the following layups with
weights listed and the included specifications/capacities/uses.
1. Layups: Kevlar, Le Tigre Kevlar, Duralite, and Carbon Tec Prices and Spec's
2. Payload is 1100 lbs. with a good working load of 500 to 750
lbs. (Two 200 lb. paddlers and 350 lbs. of gear)
3. Flat bottom in center of canoe with shallow arch towards ends.
4. All layups made with premium flexible epoxy resin.
5. Used in growing number of outfitters for BWCA/Quetico Park
use.
6. Rides up and over rough water, not through it.
