This is a Quetico 17 in Carbon Tec. One sheet of kevlar has been replaced with a sheet of carbon fiber.
Makes the canoe a wee bit lighter, a tad stiffer, and doesn't really affect the durability, not even one
teeny bit. We've been selling Souris River Carbon Tecs since 2001 and they don't really have any
problems or concerns that we need to address. They just cost more and look really cool.

This is a Souris River Canoe in Le Tigre (Tiger) Kevlar.
It's our #1 selling layup (layup= the construction materials comprising the canoe)
Le Tigre Kevlar is the same as regular kevlar for all effects and purposes.
The only difference is in the cosmetics. Le Tigre (Tiger) kevlar has
little black pinstripes of dyed black kevlar that mutes down that pukey,
"dirty butterscotch" color you see in so many of those inferior,
not-user-friendly, Brand X kevlar canoes. Now, if you want, you can get the
pukey, "dirty butterscotch" color in a Souris River Canoe. It'll still be the same
outstanding canoe as you see above made with the same ingredients and
recipe, but it will have silver trim, look boring, and cost $100 less than
the Le Tigre (Tiger) kevlar layup like you see above. It'll also be more
easily confused with those inferior Brand X canoes by people who don't know
much about really excellent canoes. This group of ignorant paddlers is really quite large
so don't be bummed out if you have to explain that it is NOT an inferior Brand X
canoe at every boat landing and portage. OR, you could just get the Le Tigre
kevlar layup and nobody will irritate you with completely-off-the-mark, sometimes-clueless,
comparisons
to other, lesser kevlar canoes.
...just another thought (and maybe an opinion or two) by Joe.
